The Chair is the smallest form of architecture.

I was lookinginto architecture facades and interior structures when designing this chair. I was so intrigued by how the ornamentations were used on the facades. It becomes especially interesting when architecture is more often identified as a masculine subject, while ornaments and patterns were considered feminine. The balance between the two reaches a point of androgyny.

My very first inspiration comes from a photo of chapelle saint-pierre. Then I looked into constructions of church furnitures. The simple and humble constructions inspired the design of the chair. I wanted to juxtapose the excessiveness of ornamentation and the simplicity of the plane and straightforward constructions.
